I can't believe this day has come! My little guy is 1 year old today (actually at 12:01 am this morning)! Owen is walking all the time now, has 8 teeth and is full of energy and laughter. He brings so much joy to our lives and we are so blessed to have him. We love you little monkey. Happy Birthday!

First Day of School

Ethan had his first day of Pre K today and he did GREAT!!! He didn't cry and pitch a fit like so many of the other little boys and girls when it was time to say good-bye. I was so proud of him. He was so excited when I picked him up. He asked when he could go back and got super excited when I told him he could go EVERY day! It's going to be a GREAT year! He LOVES school!!!

Who am I kidding? If you know me AT ALL, you know that the planning has already been done and last minute details are what need attention.

Some fun facts about little buddy...

He is WALKING! I'm in trouble now!

He weighs about 24 lbs...lightweight.

He eats and eats and eats and eats and eats...you get the picture.

He says momma ALL the time and is a big time momma's boy.

He has 6 very sharp teeth.

He's already had 1 haircut and already needs another.

He cheeses it up for the camera.

He eats A LOT.

He rubs his eyes and says 'nana' when he wants to go to bed. Super cute!

He is a very happy baby who loves his big brother, momma and dadda so much.

So I know I've been MIA lately. I promise to try to get back into the blogging groove. Our house is on the market so my days are consumed with picking up after 2 very active (and messy) boys. That in itself is a full time job.

Things have been C-R-A-Z-Y crazy lately. Work life is a little stressful right now, we put our house on the market, Ethan was promoted to Mrs. McBride's PreK class at church, VBS was all last week, swim lessons are over tomorrow, airshow was this past weekend, Owen turned 10 months old last Friday and life is just busy in general.

Blogger is not being very user friendly. I can't move pictures and it's driving me crazy! Sorry the pictures aren't in order. I found some on my mother in law's camera from Spring Break and Christmas that I didn't have uploaded. Enjoy!

I was cleaning out the boy's clothes and they decided to get in the box. Owen got in first (with a little help) and Ethan joined him. They had so much fun for about 30 minutes! Then, big brother got out and little brother decided to cause some trouble! This kid is such a goofball!

Owen is now 8.5 months old, is crawling all over the house, pulling up on everything and is cruising! I'm in for a world of hurt when he starts walking!

I was dreading turning 30. I cried when I turned 25...no joke. Maybe it was the pregnancy hormones. Hmm...anyway. 30 has been good to me so far. Easy peasy. To celebrate, Zann threw a surprise birthday party for me at Hideaway!

92 days...

Six Months...Really?!?

I can't believe this little stinker is 6 months old! Where did my little baby go? Today we celebrated with a trip to the Norman Just Between Friends sale, spitting up almost everything we've eaten, no naps and clinging to mommy. It's been a great day. No really...it has been a great day. It's just been me and my chunky monkey and I've snuggled with him all day! He's such a happy baby even when he is having an off day.

Owen weighs a whopping 19.8 lbs so we've moved him to a 'big boy car seat'. He LOVES it. He can see big brother better and they are constantly cracking up in the back seat! It's so cute!

Busy Bees

We have been keeping pretty busy lately. Our schedule is jam packed and there seems to be no end in sight. I guess that's what happens when you have 2 kiddos! I like the busy though. I'd go crazy if I didn't have something to do.

We had a pretty good snowstorm a few weeks ago (about 6 or so inches) and since our garage isn't cleaned out, both cars were outside. Ethan had a birthday party to go to, so operation snow/ice removal commenced. It took Zann a good hour just to get my car drive able! Oh and he was recovering from the nasty virus that's been going around. Ethan had it and decided to share it with mom and dad. No fun!

Don't let him fool you...he was thrilled to get out of the house and go to Laela's birthday party!

Owen is getting BIG!

I opted for non-edible Valentine's this year for Ethan's friends at 'school'. He loved helping me make them. I peeled (over 120 crayons!!!) and he broke. He was in crayon heaven! I love how they turned out!

Our annual Valentine's build-a-bear outing is scheduled for later this afternoon. Wonder what Ethan will make this year?!? Can't decide if Owen will build one this year or not?

Whew! I wish there was a faster way to upload pictures to Blogger! I've been gone too long and these pics only represent a span of 2 weeks! I apologize in advance for the number of pictures in this post. We took well over 1000 during the holidays and most of them aren't even on my computer yet!

Couldn't figure out how to move the pictures in the order I want them. Guess I've been gone too long or maybe Blogger is being difficult and not letting anyone post how they want? So...we'll just start on Dec 25 and work our way backward...

Owen turned 4 months old on Christmas Day!

Ethan was all about going to see Santa this year. He sat on his lap for a really long time and eventually I had to drag him away! He made sure and told Santa what Owen wanted too. My mom got Owen those tiny little white satin shoes. They have his monogram on them. I'm scared for him to wear them b/c I don't want them to get dirty. They are soooo adorable.

I LOVE the way Owen's nursery turned out! It's so cozy in there.

My boys this morning. Ethan was playing with his rock collection...thanks to Pepaw's smuggling skills. He brought them back from Scotland. Pepaw actually collected the rocks himself off a shore in Scotland. So cool! You can tell Owen is pumped about Ethan's rock collection.

2 Month Check Up

Owen had his 2 month appointment with the pedi today. He's growing like a weed...11 lbs 11 ozs (50th percentile) and 23 inches long (75th percentile)! Shots were horrible. I guess I had forgotten how bad they can be. Ethan always recovered pretty quick but not this little guy. He cried for a while after and it just broke my heart. He's relaxing in his swing now with an occasional pester from big brother so all is good. I still can't believe that Owen will be 2 months on Sunday! And Ethan is about a month away from turning 4! Seriously?!? Wish I could keep them little forever!

Owen turned 1 month old yesterday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! Here's Owen's one month picture with George.

Owen is such a good baby. He's a great eater, sleeper and pooper. He loves to watch and listen to his big brother. I can already tell these 2 are going to be great friends. Adjusting to 2 hasn't been bad at all. Ethan has been a big help. He likes to give Owen kisses and hugs. They are so cute together. I'm so blessed to have such cute boys!

P.S. We took Ethan's picture by George each month during his first year. It's a tradition in our family I guess.

We ventured out to the fair yesterday and had a pretty good time, ate some pretty good food and Ethan rode some fun rides.

Last Friday night, we asked Ethan to pick up his toys b/c he had made a huge mess in the LR. He proceeded to pick them up and throw them in his room. I started to organize his mess but decided to stop mid-way. He made the mess...he can pick it up. Well there it has been for a week now. It's taking everything I have to not clean it. That little mess is in the back of my head bothering me. I will probably give in and clean it tomorrow. I can barely get to the closet to put clothes up or get clothes out.

These were taken last Saturday. The mess has grown to where you can't even see the floor!

Ethan was a trooper today. He went with me to my appointment at 11, didn't take a nap and finally crashed about 10 mins before his brother arrived. He was such a good boy though. He is going to be one happy camper when he finds out he has a brother!

While we're waiting on number 2 to make his/her apperance, we've been having some fun. Ethan is such a little goofball and is going to be a great big brother.

This was a few weeks ago. Ethan went down for his nap late and I had to wake him up at 5:30. I set him in the chair awake and started dinner. I go to check on him and he was sacked out! This NEVER happens. We have a hard enough time getting him to sleep in his own bed let alone anywhere else.

We're in a state of wait now for this baby. I'm having contractions and dilated but number 2 just likes my belly way too much. No induction is scheduled...yet. I'm due on Friday and my doctor doesn't want me to go over. That's good news. If labor doesn't happen on it's own by Friday, it will be forced and we'll finally get to meet our baby!

We have been so busy lately. I feel like it's been one thing after another. When will life slow down? Not soon I'm guessing. Zann wanted to hang out with Ethan this morning so they went to the zoo while I went and got a pedicure. I'm pretty sure I got the better deal although I'm thinking maybe I should've gone to the zoo to walk around a little and get this baby moving!

Ethan has been putting his hands on his hips the past couple of days. It's hilarious. I asked him where he learned it and he said, "From Peter Pan mom." Duh!

We helped Amy move into her apartment last week. Guess the boys were goofing off taking pictures a little.

Zann went to Boston for a dermatology conference last week. He was gone Wednesday through yesterday and boy did we miss him. My mom came up and stayed with me for most of that time and we got a ton of work done! We cleaned out the guest bedroom/craft room to make way for baby, got most of my JBF stuff ready for the sale, made a trip to Goodwill to drop off and lots more. We were busy the entire time she was here. I always like it when my mom comes b/c she pushes me to get things done! We managed to squeeze in some fun things too like take maternity pics and get snocones so it wasn't all work.

My goodwill load. We had a ton of stuff that was just taking up space. It feels nice to purge!

I've been a little off the radar lately. Sorry. We have had a ton going on not to mention getting ready for baby number 2. I'm also getting some of Ethan's old things ready for Just Between Friends. Call me crazy but I'm not missing that sale unless I'm in labor! I'm not a die hard shopper much now that Ethan is getting older. I have a hard time finding clothes for him there (he ALWAYS finds toys) but I do make a pretty good chunk of change selling his old things. And what doesn't sell goes straight to charity. It's great! I highly recommend JBF. Skip all the other sales...they aren't worth it. JBF is the best!

I don't have any pictures b/c we've been too busy to take any. My days are consumed with a certain 3 year old and keeping him happy. That's been a struggle as of late. Ethan has always been a happy kid with a ton of energy. Lately, he's turned into a little stinker. He's constantly talking back, not listening, acting up and pushing my buttons. I'm really hoping this is just a phase and it will pass soon...like before his brother or sister gets here. Anyone have any experience with this? He's super excited about the baby and keeps asking when his sister is going to get here. Soon, little one, soon.

Just a few pictures I found on my point and shoot.

Ethan had an allergic reaction to something (probably a bug bite) a few weeks ago and his face puffed up. I felt so sorry for him. He could barely open his eyes or talk. Thankfully, the swelling went down after a few doses of Benedryl.

This past weekend, Zann and Casey went on a little fishing trip with my dad.

Sorry for the random post. Nothing much has been going on. We've been super busy going in a million different directions but nothing exciting has happened. I've started having contractions and probably shouldn't have gone to Ada Friday with the boys (although I did get to go to a scrapbook class with my mom). I ended up on the couch all day yesterday per my husband's order. My feet were like little marshmallows and I was having strong contractions. This heat is no fun but I should be able to stand a few more weeks. Sorry for the randomness. Hopefully I'll have something exciting to blog about soon.

I so wish I could take credit for the idea behind Zann's gift this year but I can't. I found it on one of the 100s of blogs I read. It was a little harder to accomplish than I thought. Sure the pictures aren't perfect but you try photographing a 3.5 year old outside when he wants to play, it's hot and he doesn't want to cooperate. But Zann loved it and that's all that matters. Ethan loves his daddy and I'm pretty fond of him myself.

Ethan has become a little questioner lately. He wants to know everything about everything. I'm constantly worn out trying to come up with answers to his millions of questions.

Last night, Jen, Casey and sweet Adley came over for a cookout. Jen was sitting on the couch holding little Adley (who is almost 1 month old! wow!) and here's the conversation that followed...

ET: Hey whose belly did that baby come out of?

Jen: She came out of my belly. Remember when it was big like your momma's?

ET: Well how did she come out of your belly? Did she just break out or somesing?

Me: Laughing along with everyone else...She came out very carefully.

I can't remember the rest of the conversation due to laughing hysterically. He had the funniest expression when he asked if she 'broke out'. It was so funny. I wish I could put a video camera on him 24/7. Silly boy.

Here's another totally random Ethan story that I need to document so I can remember it. Our church had VBS this week and the theme was Joshua. On the last day, Ethan and his little partner in crime, David, apparently got a time out for knocking down the walls of Jericho. That's what I call interpreting the scripture a little too literally. Ada Air Expo 09

Well...we're back from yet another summer trip. This past weekend, we went down to Ada for the annual airshow. It just gets better and better every year. Ethan LOVED it this year! He was super excited to see all the planes. He's been every year since 2006. If you want to see pics from last year, go here. Here is just a small sampling of the events this year. It was a great show!

Ethan wanted to fly in an airplane soooo bad. And when your papa is the air boss, you get your way. Except ET didn't actually fly. We told him he had to be 4. Hope he doesn't remember that next year!

One of my favorite things at the air show is the race. Each year they have a corvette race an airplane. You know the airplane is going to win but it's still fun to watch and always a crowd favorite. This year is was a Porsche, or Porch as Ethan calls it. See the little black blob in the far upper right corner? That's the Porsche. It broke 100 mph but didn't come close to winning. Super cool!

Zann did get a ride in an airplane. He got to ride in one of the acrobatic planes and had a blast. This was right before take off.

And who doesn't like watermelon on a hot day? We were out at the Ada airport from 9 am - 5 pm on Saturday (under a huge tent) and the watermelon hit the spot! Not to mention all the snocones we had as well. The Ada Air Expo happens every year on Father's Day weekend. It's a super fun family friendly activity so come join us next year! I promise I'll share my tent if you get too hot!

Houston - Part 2

If you read my previous post, you know that we were in Houston last weekend. My cousin got married on Friday night and Saturday we headed over to my in-laws for a few days. Ethan ended up getting sick early Sunday morning (throwing up at 3 am every 30 minutes til around 10...no fun). Pam and I managed to get in a shopping trip to the Galleria on Sunday but Ikea would have to wait. Monday we squeezed in an outlet mall and Ikea. I was plum exhausted after all that walking! My feet hurt soooo bad. But I had fun! I didn't take many pictures at my in-laws. I guess I thought Zann did. Oh well. Enjoy these of Ethan playing in the sprinkler.

Fun In Houston

Wow what a weekend! My cousin, Natalie, got married this past weekend in Houston. It was outside at an old plantation house and was just beautiful. Natalie was such a beautiful bride and everything was just wonderful. We got to visit with family a little and that's always fun.

Ethan did great at the wedding. He did get a little cranky when the bride and groom were leaving at 10 pm but I was a little cranky by then too. We got a good visit in with my dad's side of the family (we all stayed up til midnight or 1 am just talking!) then we headed to mimi and pepaw's for a few days. Those pictures will have to wait for another entry though. I took 391 pictures just from our trip to grandma Norma's. I have no idea how many more new ones are on my camera waiting...

Warning: This post has a TON of pictures! We've had a very eventful week. We became an aunt, uncle and cousin and visited our new niece/cousin as much as we could.

I was well enough to hold my niece! It's not a very flattering picture of me but oh well. I was so excited to hold her! Ethan...not so much.

We went to some garage sales on Saturday and Ethan got a new scooter. He saw it before I did and jumped right on it and took off. Best $5 I've spent in a while! I love all of Ethan's faces and my new camera can actually capture them!

Today we started swimming lessons! My kid is definitely going to be a handful. He has so much energy. The other 3 year old kids sat nicely while they waited their turn...until my 3 year old started kicking and acting up, then the rest followed. Not cool, Ethan, not cool. We're going to work on that before the next lesson. Well it's nap time around our house. I have a ton on my to do list and hopefully I'll get to it. I do have the Bachelorette on the DVR and a couple of Netflix movies though. Hmmm....decisions, decisions.

7 Years

Happy Anniversary to us! 7 years...wow! A lot has happened in those 7 years. We've moved 3 times, gone on many vacations, graduated college (me), med school and residency (Zann...duh!), had a beautiful son and are excited to have another baby, spent holidays with family, had tons of fun times with friends....but most importantly, we've loved and supported each other in everything. I love Zann more and more each day. He is an awesome husband and great father and truly is a blessing to me and Ethan (and number 2). I love you Zann.

In other news, we had a fun weekend. Friday afternoon, we took Ethan to see Up. It was a great movie but a little scary in parts (mainly the last 30 mins) for small children. Then, on Saturday, my parents and sister were in town. We ended up going down to the Warren to see Night At the Museum 2 with them. It was a pretty funny movie. Better than the first. Ethan thought it was funny too.

Memorial Day 2009

In true TM fashion, I failed to take pictures of our holiday get together with family and friends. I'm holding out for my new camera. Thank goodness for friends who do take pictures! And thank goodness for friends who make yummy snacks!

Suzanne, Joey and Jaxon came over for the afternoon along with my parents and sister and Jen and Casey. We fired up the smoker, got the pool ready for the little boys and had a fun time outside! We had yummy burgers, ribs and hot dogs, and lots of sides and snacks. My stomach is still recovering! It was such a beautiful fun day!

The boys were using the slide as a surfboard and it filled with water and was super heavy. It took teamwork to get it back in the pool to surf on again. Oh and they might have made it 'pee' and got a big kick out of that.

There was just a tiny amount of grass in the pool after the boys were done. It was a great day! Suzanne, thanks for the pics and the cucumber sandwiches.

Zoo Trip

We haven't been to the zoo in forever. Let me rephrase that...I haven't been to the zoo in forever. Zann took Ethan a few weeks ago while I went to garage sales with Suzanne. Yesterday, we met our good friends there and had a great time. Thanks to Leslie I have pictures!

Ethan loved seeing his friends, Luke and Carson. We hadn't seen them since Luke's birthday in January. We even made some new friends which is always fun. There will be more fun zoo days in the weeks ahead!

Road Trip

Just a little non-picture update...

Last Wednesday, Ethan and I loaded up and headed to Ada for a little road trip with my mom and sister. We woke up bright and early on Thursday and headed out to see my mom's parents in Louisiana (about an 8 hour trip). We had a nice visit there and headed to Katy, TX (another 4 hour trip) to see my grandma (dad's mom), aunt and 2 of our cousins. Then, yesterday we headed back to Ada (add about 7 hours to the total travel time) and then this morning I made the short trip back to E-town (total time in the car = around 23 hours). I am so glad to be home. It was nice to see my family though. We had been planning on going to Louisiana for a while now and then my cousin's wedding shower was yesterday so we rolled both trips into one. Ethan was a great traveler and I did okay too! We just had to make a few more potty breaks than usual. Now Ethan is snug as a bug in a rug in his own bed (he slept with me the entire trip and that was not fun) for his nap. I'm going to relax a little with my feet up. Hopefully before long I'll download pics and post those. Hope everyone has a happy Monday.

Week In Review

I've really been lacking when it comes to blogging. Part of it is that my camera is on it's last leg (hoping to remedy that situation this week), it takes 4 or 5 steps to download pics to the dinosaur desktop and I usually have something else that needs to get done (laundry, dishes, dinner, etc.). Priorities.

We had a busy week last week. Ethan had his first visit to the eye doctor. He can see 20/25! My OB appointment was uneventful. I've gained 8 pounds so that's good. We looked at 3 houses with our awesome realtor...didn't care for any of them. Nana came to visit Thursday night and Friday. Here are a few pics from the eye doctor. I'm glad Amy went with us b/c Ethan wanted nothing to do with his horrible mother that brought him to that horrible place. JK. He actually did really well!

This weekend flew by. If you've read Suzanne's blog, then you know we hit up some garage sales on Saturday. I LOVE garage sales. Suzanne made a haul, me not so much. I did get a pretty cool vintage fan, some antique glass jars, an antique chip and dip tray and some little toys, DVDs and book for Ethan. Gotta always get something for the 3 year old. While I was out on the town, Zann and Ethan headed to the zoo. Oh and uncle Casey went too. I'm pretty sure they had an awesome time.

What a weekend!!! Mimi and Pepaw were in town for the Gregg wedding...such a beautiful ceremony and reception. Wish I had taken more pictures. Ethan's buddy, Jaxon, was there and those 2 had a UFC match during the reception. It was hilarious! Food was yummy, punch was amazing, cake was awesome...it was a great day! Here are some pics...

This week is jam packed. I really didn't realize I had scheduled so much in one week. Hopefully I won't go insane trying to get it all finished. Ethan has an eye doctor appointment...his first...so we'll see how that goes. I have an OB appointment and I'm dreading weighing since I ate way too much this weekend and last. And we're going to try to make it to the zoo at least once. Today we're concentrating on grandparent detox. So far, so good. Movie time Monday is a lifesaver! Well I'm off to get a few things done. Crazy

We have been super busy this last month or so hence the lack of posting. This weekend it continues with family coming into town...MiMi and Pepaw...for a wedding. Life is busy and I have a feeling it won't ever slow down which is fine with me. I like being busy...it's never boring.

This past Saturday was Ethan's good friend Jaxon's birthday and we celebrated with him at the park. The boys were too busy playing to eat lunch or cake. And Ethan was so exhausted when we got home that he slept for almost 4 hours!!!

In baby news, I've popped! I woke up one day last week and suddenly had a belly. I feel great though! We had our ultrasound at the end of March and everything looks good. I've felt the baby since about week 16 and he/she moves constantly. Every time Ethan is in my lap, the baby goes crazy! It's so funny. He's going to be such a good big brother. Well my to do list is calling to me. #1 priority today is the post office...along with hundreds of other Americans. Don't you just love it when your accountant slacks off and doesn't get your taxes to you til April 14?!? Seriously. You're Fired! #2 is going to the mall with my sister. Super excited about that! #3 is a mani/pedi but that's going to have to wait til another day. And the list goes on...

Outdoor Fun

Last Saturday, we decided to get outside and do something fun. Yes it was a little chilly and windy but we didn't mind. We headed to our favorite Saturday morning breakfast joint, Chick-fil-A, to pick up some yummy chicken biscuits and then made our way to the park. We walked a little (until it was just too windy) and ate at a picnic table before playing. It was a nice family outing and we need to do it more often! Maybe once the weather stays consistent...

I usually watch the Today Show each morning for a little while before ET wakes up. Last week I got sick of hearing about what Michelle O. was wearing, going to wear, going to do or whatever so I switched it over to Rise and Shine OK. I had never seen this show before so didn't really know what to expect. It's decent if you can stand David Payne that early. Anyway...I have a point...they were talking about squeeze cheese and being the pregnant girl that I am, I started craving it. I picked some up on my next trip to Target. Well Zann saw it in the pantry and asked, "What is this stuff?" I said, "You've never had squeeze cheese?!?" He had NEVER had squeeze cheese! My grandma Norma always had it at her house when we visited! So he tried some...

I'm Back

I took a deep breath and plugged the external hard drive into the dinosaur desktop...our pictures and videos are still there! I had this nauseous feeling that they had been erased when our laptop crashed. Thankfully, this was not the case. The EHD will be unplugged when not in use from now on to avoid more nauseous feelings.

Alot has happened in the last month. I do have a few new pictures that I'd like to share...

Ethan loves to build things. He'll build towers just to knock them over.

Zann's parents came for Jen's baby shower over Spring Break. Mike spoiled Molly by playing fetch with her the entire time. He'd throw the ball under the TV stand and she'd throw her whole body under there to get the ball. It was really funny in person.

We attended the Thunder/Bulls game last week and all coordinated our outfits (on accident). Not pictured is Zann in a light blue polo.

Zann gave Ethan a ninja tattoo the other night. I can't believe he actually drew on his legs with a pen! Ethan loved it.

Sad Day

So remember back in September when we thought our hard drive crashed but it was really just a bad battery? Well...Saturday morning when I went to check email and blogs, I find the blue screen of death on the laptop. Thankfully my dad was coming that day (he's a computer guy) and I thought maybe he could fix the problem. After messing with the laptop for a few minutes, he determines the hard drive is unresponsive and packs up lappie to take with him. Maybe just maybe he could recover a few files. Email from dad today stated that no data could be recovered! I'm just thankful I backed up ALL of our pictures, videos and music. And I'm also thankful I have Zann who convinced me we should hang on to our dinosaur desktop computer b/c who knows when we may need it. I hooked it up and it's running just fine so at least I have internet. Really...who can live w/out internet? I sure can't. Now I have to figure out what files I had on the laptop so I can recreate them. Technology sure stinks sometimes!

All About Dad

Clearly Ethan has been spending way too much time with dad lately...

For those wondering, this is actually how he says Beverly Hills Chihuahua...in all seriousness.

And this one I'm pretty sure he had some help coming up with the answer. Not from me so that only leaves one guilty party...Zann. Lately, Ethan has been a daddy's boy. He asks about his dad constantly when he's not here and most of the time he wants nothing to do with me. I'm ok with this for now. Dad is a much better ninja turtle than I will ever be! In fact, Ethan thinks he is actually a ninja turtle. He is Raphael, Zann is Donatello and I'm master Splinter, the rat or Shredder.

These videos and pictures were taken before bath time a few nights ago. Zann was busy hanging new shelves in Ethan's room while I documented his new talents. He's such a goofy boy. I have a feeling he's going to be just like his dad.

Fun Times

Until I snuck this one. Ethan and nana are looking for objects in his search and find book. He loves that thing! And he's pretty good at finding everything on the list.

And what do you do on a Saturday morning when it's cold and windy outside? Why put together a gigantic Noah's Ark floor puzzle of course! Well maybe it's not that gigantic. But it's sure fun.

Our happy boy despite a restless night of coughing. We have the most powerful cough medicine insurance money can buy but it doesn't put a dent in this kid's coughing. Anyone have any home remedies for coughing? We already do Vick's on the bottom of his feet. I'm so ready for allergy season to be over and done with.

Fluffy the Fake Barking Dog

Valentine's Day has come and gone. We had a lovely evening planned last Friday but the stomach bug invaded and I was forced to lay on the couch ALL weekend. It was not fun. We did manage to make it to Build-A-Bear on Saturday (along with everyone else in town) to make our annual Valentine animal. Ethan decided he wanted a puppy this year and he named him Fluffy. If you remember last year, he made a dinosaur and named him Roar Roar. He sleeps with both of these large animals.

Fluffy barks when you squeeze his right arm and Molly can't stand it. She goes into attack mode when Ethan taunts her with the fake barking dog. It's pretty funny.

While I was recovering from whatever illness I had, Zann got to spend some quality time with Ethan and taught him a few new tricks. He now knows how to spell his name! He can spell it using his alphabet puzzle letters and by saying the letters in order. So smart! He's growing up so fast and I know he's going to be the best big brother! Time Out

It has been one of those days. Ethan woke up at 6:45 and has been in a bad mood since. Mommy's in a bad mood too so it's been real fun at our house. These pregnancy hormones are not fun. I'm on an emotional roller coaster. Oh and did I mention today was a no nap day? The mowers decided to come mow our dead grass at the exact moment my child was dozing off. His dreams of monster trucks quickly turned into a nightmare and this mom's afternoon was ruined.

Ethan wanted to play with his stamps. I was in the middle of something so I asked him to wait a minute so I could finish what I was doing. He decided to start without me. He covered his exposed skin with stamps. He even had ink on his lips. This little artist then got a time out.

But with a face like this it's hard to stay mad long.

Ok so enough with the complaining. Yes it was a horrible day but it could have been worse. So what if I got to spend some more time with my son. We did get to make some really cute valentines. He'll just go to bed early tonight and we'll hope for a better day tomorrow.

I had an appointment yesterday with my OB's PA and convinced her to do an ultrasound instead of the Doppler. I got to see baby M and this child is already super active. I felt Ethan around 17-18 weeks and he moved constantly. He came out kicking and hasn't stopped since. I have a feeling this one is going to be the exact same! Does that mean we're having another boy? Guess we'll find out at the end of August. Anyway...just wanted to post this pic...mainly for the grandparents. Now I can't wait to see baby M again in a few weeks at the big ultrasound. I just love seeing our baby!

Weekend In Dallas

Things have been so crazy around our house lately. Last week was chaotic to say the least. My mom came up on Thursday and helped me clean/organize my house (thanks mom). We cleaned out Ethan's entire room and closet, organized all his baby things and went through his clothes, toys and books. That kid has way too much stuff. We also cleaned out the garage. It was so cluttered that it was starting to stress me out. We put 8 big tubs of Ethan's clothes (ridiculous) and 5 big tubs of toys (again, ridiculous) in the attic. Again, this kid has way too much stuff for a 3 year old! We worked all morning on Friday and finally called it quits after we couldn't walk. I still have a little more to do but I'm motivated enough to do it now.

So that was Thursday afternoon - Friday. Friday evening, Ethan went with Zann and Casey to the boat show at the fairgrounds. It was so nice to have the house to myself for a few hours. I actually fell asleep (I was worn out from working in the garage). That was nice. Anywho...Ethan caught a couple of catfish and found a boat he wants. According to Zann, the boat was pimped out and cost around $80,000. Not gonna happen little buddy.

Now on to the weekend. We woke up nice and early Saturday morning and headed to Dallas (along with Jen and Casey) to meet MiMi and PePaw. It was kinda nice to get away. We went to the Galleria on Saturday and the Dallas Aquarium on Sunday. If you ever have a chance to go to the aquarium, go. It's awesome! And of course we couldn't leave the Dallas metropolitan area without a visit to Ikea. I could spend all day in that store! I LOVE it!

Hopefully we can get back on a schedule now. Ethan didn't really have a nap all weekend. He did fall asleep on the way home yesterday at 5, slept all the way home and we managed to get him in the house and in bed without waking up. And he slept til 7:15 this morning! WoooHooo!

14. Did you have any complications during pregnancy? see #13. I did gain a little too much weight and was pre-eclamptic. Hence the early delivery.

16. How many hours were you in labor? Maybe an hour of active labor? I was admitted at midnight, epidural at noon, water broke at 3:26 pm and he was here at 4 pm on the dot. I thought it was going to be a whole lot harder than that!

17. Who drove you to the hospital? My mom, dad and sister. Zann was on call.

18. Who watched? My doc, a few nurses and Zann.

19. Was it natural or c-section? Natural.

20. Did you take medication to ease the pain? I had an epidural.

21. How much did your child weigh? 6 lbs 11 ozs.

22. Did your child have any complications? Happy and healthy. He did have a little cone head from the vacuum but it wasn't too bad. His ears were slowing him down so my doc had to help him find his way out with the vacuum.

23. What did you name him? Michael Ethan
24. How old is your first born today? 3

The past week in pictures...

We took Ethan to a Thunder game the Sunday before Christmas. He wasn't as excited as I thought he'd be. Oh well...the tickets were free.

My side of the family opens presents on Christmas Eve (Zann's side does Christmas morning) and then Santa comes on Christmas morning. Double presents!

My mom has been wanting a new picture of me and my sister for like 6 years (no lie). We were so excited for her to open this. I don't think she had any idea.

Just a Thanksgiving recap...

My best friend, Tara, made Ethan some dinosaur boogers for his birthday.

Just one more birthday present from MiMi and PeePaw.

We brought Molly with us down to Houston for Thanksgiving. Kailee is 16 years old and Molly is 4 months. Molly wanted to play with Kailee so bad but she wanted no part of it.

Ethan has MiMi wrapped around his little finger. I'm sure she was worn out after we left. They probably went up and down the stairs about 500 times.

Thanksgiving day...can't remember if it was before or after the feast.

Ethan got to play golf with the boys while the girls went shopping on Friday morning. I'm pretty sure he had an awesome time. I think Zann might have even let him drive the golf cart.

And of course no trip to Houston is complete without a visit to Ikea. I always go if I can squeeze it in. I have the big version of this chair in black and I'm thinking I should have gotten this for Ethan. Maybe Santa shops at Ikea too.

Here is Zann & Casey with Kailee before we left yesterday. Did I mention she's 16 years old? That's like 102 in human years.

We had a fun time in Houston at MiMi and PeePaw's. It's always tough to leave but it's nice to be home. Now I need to figure out when I'm going to put my Christmas decorations up...

Turkey Day Has Come and Gone

I'm laying in bed trying to come down from a sugar high so I can get my rest for tomorrow's shopping festivities. Turkey Day is officially over but you should see the leftovers in the fridge! Ham, turkey, dressing, carrots, corn casserole, green bean casserole (gone), cranberry sauce rolls, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, ice cream and ginger cookies! Yummy! Ethan's newest thing is saying the prayer before our meals. This is how it went at breakfast...

Dear God,

Thank you for the food. Thank you for my toys. Thank you for my clothes. Thank you for my house. Thank you for the food. Thank you for Jesus.

Amen.

He is so sweet. I'm thankful for those things too buddy. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! Let the countdown to Christmas begin!

It's official. Ethan is three. We had his party on Friday night (his actual birthday was Saturday) at Unpluggits. We played, ate some cake, opened presents and visited with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Thank you everyone who came and made Ethan's birthday so special.

Katie Rowten did Ethan's cake. She got tons of compliments on it. Look how cute it is. And it was sooo yummy.

Everyone in my family (on my mom's side) has a bank made out of an old US post office lock box. My mom's dad, my grandpa Royne, is an awesome craftsman. He makes violins, cellos, grandfather clocks, little toy trucks and so on. His brother, my great uncle Herbert, makes the banks. Ethan got his bank for his first Christmas. He loves putting money in his bank and usually cleans out his grandparent's pockets and wallets when they come to visit. I was cleaning out my purse this morning and found some loose change in the bottom so I gave it to Ethan. He went to put it in his bank but there wasn't room! So we decided to count his money and turns out he has $69.68 in change!

Next time you see Ethan, ask him what he's saving his money for. The answer will melt your heart! He's such a sweet boy.

The grandfather clock behind me and Amy in this picture was made by my grandpa. He made one for all 4 of his kids. We always take important pictures by the clock... :)

So one of the commercials during the Today Show this AM was a Christmas one...a little girl pushes a button on a gingerbread house turning her surroundings into a Christmas carol music video. Seriously?!? We haven't even made it to Thanksgiving yet and already Christmas advertisements are streaming the media. I guess the back to back political campaigns ads needed to be replaced with something.
